Campaign to run mobile billboards and street posters across the District calling out federal police for wearing masks, and exposing Trump’s nakedly authoritarian actions.
WASHINGTON – August 29, 2025 – Amid Donald Trump’s federal police crackdown in Washington, DC, Home of the Brave launched a new six-figure street campaign to blanket the city with ads calling out federal police for refusing to show their faces.
The campaign will run for 10 days and features wall postings, sidewalk decals, and street posters saying “Take off your masks!” and “Why are you hiding your face? Public servants should face the public.” These will be plastered around the city. It will also feature a mobile billboard featuring similar creative, which will drive around high-traffic locations in the city. You can view images of the creative here.
The deployment of federal law enforcement and National Guard troops in the District is an obvious attempt by the president to intimidate political opponents, and many officers’ refusal to show their faces is creating an environment of fear in the city.
“There’s no justification for using federal law enforcement and National Guardsmen as political pawns,” said Michael Fanone, spokesman and member of the advisory board of Home of the Brave. “But as long as they’re here, it’s imperative that officers conduct themselves professionally—and that starts with showing their faces.”
This campaign is being run by Home of the Brave, a new initiative that exists to tell the stories of Americans who have been harmed by the Trump administration and encourage leaders to speak out against it. Home of the Brave features more than 90 testimonials of people who have been hurt in this way and are speaking out.
Home of the Brave’s advisory board includes distinguished Americans who refuse to kowtow, including January 6 police officer Michael Fanone, former White House Deputy Press Secretary Sarah Matthews, and more. Home of the Brave also publishes a newsletter on Substack, showcasing these leaders’ stories, as well as the stories of everyday Americans who have been harmed by Trump’s actions.
