ICE arrested me for playing music at a protest.

Story Summary:

Adam is a musician who has been participating in the protests against ICE’s Broadview detention facility. Musicians like them help provide a sense of unity at these gatherings, and they’ve been met with outright hostility and violence by ICE agents and other police who are supporting them on-scene.

Up close and personal, Adam has seen agents brutalizing peaceful protestors, including by shooting them with “less lethal” rounds at close range, clubbing them with batons, and throwing them to the pavement. They have been choked out by agents, and Adam’s elderly parents were even shoved to the ground—all for expressing their First Amendment rights.

On November 14, Adam was arrested along with 20 other peaceful protestors, and charged with offenses including “resisting or obstructing a peace officer” and “pedestrian walking on a highway.” But they are undeterred. Adam will be back at the protests, fighting this administration’s cruelty and refusing to be intimidated by Trump’s masked thugs.
