“ Meat prices are exorbitant”
Kelly from New Jersey, is fully disabled due to long COVID and relies on state assistance to get by. But with grocery prices soaring, her benefits no longer cover the cost of living. She and her friends try to cope by buying in bulk, splitting meat from local butchers, and stretching food stamps at farmers markets. Even so, she often goes a whole month without doing a full grocery shop, saying the rising prices have become detrimental to her survival.
